Cosmological Particle Creation and Dynamical Casimir Effect
In this paper we have considered the particle creation in the spatially closed Robertson-Walker space-time. We considered a real massive scalar field which con-formally coupled to the Robertson-Walker background. With the dependence of the scale factor on time, the case under consideration is a dynamical Casimir effect with moving boundaries.
متن کاملCosmological consequences of particle creation during inflation
Particle creation during inflation is considered. It could be important for species whose interaction is of gravitational strength or weaker. A complete but economical formalism is given for spin-zero and spin-half particles, and the particle abundance is estimated on the assumption that the particle mass in the early universe is of order the Hubble parameter H. It is roughly the same for both ...
متن کاملAnalogue of cosmological particle creation in an ion trap.
We study phonons in a dynamical chain of ions confined by a trap with a time-dependent (axial) potential strength and demonstrate that they behave in the same way as quantum fields in an expanding or contracting Universe. Based on this analogy, we present a scheme for the detection of the analogue of cosmological particle creation which should be feasible with present day technology. In order t...
متن کاملParticle propagators on discrete spacetime
A quantum mechanical description of particle propagation on the discrete spacetime of a causal set is presented. The model involves a discrete path integral in which trajectories within the causal set are summed over to obtain a particle propagator. The sum-over-trajectories is achieved by a matrix geometric series. For causal sets generated by sprinkling points into 1+1 and 3+1 dimensional Min...
متن کاملInterpreting Cosmological Vacuum Decay
The cosmological vacuum decay scenario recently proposed by Wang and Meng [1] is rediscussed. From thermodynamic arguments it is found that the ǫ parameter quantifying the vacuum decay rate must be positive in the presence of particle creation. If there is no particle creation, the proper mass of Cold Dark Matter (CDM) particles is necessarily a time dependent quantity, scaling as m(t) = moa(t)...
